Community

Our goal is to connect freedivers to resources to explore waterways across the USA. Below is a list of Facebook groups that we've found to help you find freediving buddies, explore novel dive sites, and find freediving instructors to ensure that you have the safety skills and knowledge to embark on remote freediving adventures. As freediving is still a growing sport in the USA, we strongly advocate for freediving safety! Freediving is a very safe sport with the proper training, knowledge, and safety protocols. Your actions have an impact on the community, and we recommend that anyone who utilizes these resources dives with a certified freediving buddy who regularly practices safety skills and rescue techniques.

Hike and Dive Beginnings

Hello! My name is Rachel, and I’m an avid trail runner, hiker, and freediver. Being from the landlocked desert state of Nevada, people are always surprised when I say that I freedive. While I’m thankful that freediving has taken me to many beautiful spots near the sea, most of my freediving adventures actually involve fresh water destinations! One of my biggest passions for the last few years has been trail running to scout out crystal clear alpine lakes and then coming back with freediving buddies and gear to check them out on one breath. I’m excited to share these adventures with you in the hopes of inspiring you to explore the world in a way that you may not have thought of before. Thanks for joining me, and let's grow the Hike and Dive Community together!
